Numerical inaccuracy and high computational complexity in geometric modeling problems are two major hurdles impeding development of robust and efficient algorithms. To overcome them, we have developed a general robustness scheme using extended-precision interval arithmetic(EPIA) for determining correct arrangement of geometric elements. In this presentation, I will give the brief introduction of the idea and present the results of three geometric problems we have solved with EPIA: 3D Minkowski sum, sweep volume, and Boolean operations. GPU acceleration of the first two also will be discussed.
